Summer Dreams IV

I woke up because of the fire alarm and smoke made it hard to see. You weren’t under the bed with me and that scared me. I frantically ran to go find you. I very quickly found you in the kitchen, trying to make pancakes. I calmed down, hugged you, and opened a window. I set up an oscillating fan pointing at the window and then scraped off the crispy black thing on the frying pan into the trash. We stood there holding each other for a few minutes until the air cleared and the fire alarm turned itself off. Through the silence I whispered your name and nothing more.
Summer Dreams III

We went to the place that was in my dream. I doubt we passed the exact spot it took place, but it was very similar. We both had stomach aches which may not have been related to the German prostitutes that we never actually met. We avoided the pirate ship run by angry teenagers because it was simply too cold out.We did, however, sit on the circular disk and wonder how culture can be so diverse in such a small place. Then we passed the lift up the mountain and considered it, but you were wet and I made your stomach hurt, so we passed it. We didn’t really want to count the shoes and underwear anyway. Then I was going to race with a very large piece of metal, but I decided to stay with you instead. We made our way past the angry juggler and through the smelly restaurant and rode in the carriage instead of on horseback, so that we could sit next to each other. The scary man with gray hair who was not my uncle made you make me think that you wanted to scare me. This was all very confusing. We got some food and made out way to the car alarm. The conductor yelled at us and wouldn’t tell us the time but you weren’t reallt angry at that. We sat on the tar and waited for them to stop staring at us. On the way home we ate what reminded us of communion wafers and you didn’t see me talking to you as you left and I sat in the back seat watching bobbing lines and regretting more than I can remember.
Summer Dreams II

That night you slept over my house. You got there really late, when no one else was home. It was thundering outside. We sat there for a while, with all the lights out in the house, listening to the thunder and watching the lighting. We counted the time in between the bright flashes and the loud rumbles. We didn’t know the formula used to find out the distance of the thunder, but we counted anyway. You brought a couple of glowsticks. You had an orange one and a green one. I went into the kitchen to get us some soda When I got back to the bedroom, you were gone. I was smiling the entire time I was looking for you. I went to the closet near the front door as quietly as I could.I put my hand near the knob and grinned. I quickly turned it, but you jumped out and pushed me to the floor. As I got up, I heard you run down the hallway, giggling. I went back to the bedroom and saw a big mound underneath the blankets with two faints signs of glowsticks in it. I was a little confused about your new hiding spot, it seemed to be in lpain sight. I turned over the blankets and found two pillows and a couple of glow sticks. I felt something grab my feet. I fell down and you pulled me under the bed. We slept under there that night.
Summer Dreams I

We went to the amusement park that day. It wasn’t really a date. We were just hanging out, and having fun. I seemed more interested in the structure of the buildings than your beautiful smile. I wondered how they made them and considered being an architect. I layed down on a bench and looked up at the amazing summer sky. It was a clear day on the mountainside. Your head popped into view and your hair hung over my head. You had the biggest grin on your face I had ever seen. You quickly bent down and kissed me then ran away laughing. I couldn’t stop smiling as I got up and ran after you. I caught up and gave you a hug. Just then, a harness on a ride broke and someone fell down onto a metal platform next to us. I flinched as the blood dripped down my face. I stood for a moment and began to shake uncontrollably.
I shuddered and grabbed your arm and said, “We have to go now.” I started walking, even though I couldn’t see anything. I could hear people’s voices around us, but I just kept walking. “We have to go now,” I kept saying. I then fell down and vomit made it’s way to the warm pavement under my face. It was my first time watching someone die. I had seen pets die before and other animals. But, this was so different. Your hand never left mine. From where I was laying, and twitching, I could see the torn body. I was on the ground, convulsing, without shedding a single tear. You were crouching above me, crying hysterically. You didn’t let go of my hand nor did you say anything.
