Butterfly Crush
2006 28 September 28, 2006 (28200628)
The lights are flooding,
Shifting,
Blinding.
Everything is gone.
The walls are all gone.
Nothing to contain.
Nothing to restrain.
Everything is falling apart.
You can’t avoid the feeling
To destroy something beautiful.
You must embrace the feeling
To destroy something beautiful.
We’ve got a lot to learn;
Now destroy something beautiful.
Unwinding, unbinding
While clenching and wrenching.
Question everything and answer to no one.
Master anything and you might find someone
Waiting.
Get a grip
And hold onto the world.
You will feel
The butterfly crush.

Blue ink and black ink
Utensil for what we are
The blood of the soul
The chaos theory
A universal spectrum
And we are but dust
Civil through daylight
At least that’s what they would wish
Oh, sweet Juliet
Twist the truth for me
Push and pull what used to be

Leaf shaped like a heart
Crushed under a careless heal
Small and innocent
Sit under a tree
Casually with dew drops
Be one with the Earth
Filled with clouded thoughts
Unable to think or move
It’s mal-inspired
Gnarled branch is wise
Gnarled tree is much wiser
What of a gnarled forest?
Trash left on the ground
Piles higher and higher
The Earth wastes away
Whispers in the wind
A tree makes good company
Lonely in the shade
Remember the Butterflies

What is this thing?
This indescribable thing.
This powerful thing.
This driven thing.
This tender thing.
This caring thing.
This passionate thing.
This thing.
What is this thing?
Is it a hand slipping into a hand and not letting go?
Is it a kiss on the cheek for the sake of a kiss on the cheek?
Is it a hug when a hug is needed?
Or is it a hug just because of the possibility of a hug?
Maybe it’s something more abstract.
Is it the butterflies in your stomach?
Is it that shiver down your spine?
Is it the feeling that nothing can go wrong?
Is it that rush every time you see them smile?
Whatever it is,
Hold on to the rush.
Do not forget the shiver.
Remember the butterflies.

Crisp air fills my lungs.
The sun is bright, warm, and high.
A beautiful world.
Time always passes.
A bell rings to mark the hours.
Day in and day out.
Looking for her face,
Trying to spot a good friend.
Waiting forever.
A brilliant teacher.
Crafting minds like they were clay.
Babysitting job.
