Summer Dreams I
2006 13 July 13, 2006 (13200613)
We went to the amusement park that day. It wasn’t really a date. We were just hanging out, and having fun. I seemed more interested in the structure of the buildings than your beautiful smile. I wondered how they made them and considered being an architect. I layed down on a bench and looked up at the amazing summer sky. It was a clear day on the mountainside. Your head popped into view and your hair hung over my head. You had the biggest grin on your face I had ever seen. You quickly bent down and kissed me then ran away laughing. I couldn’t stop smiling as I got up and ran after you. I caught up and gave you a hug. Just then, a harness on a ride broke and someone fell down onto a metal platform next to us. I flinched as the blood dripped down my face. I stood for a moment and began to shake uncontrollably.
I shuddered and grabbed your arm and said, “We have to go now.” I started walking, even though I couldn’t see anything. I could hear people’s voices around us, but I just kept walking. “We have to go now,” I kept saying. I then fell down and vomit made it’s way to the warm pavement under my face. It was my first time watching someone die. I had seen pets die before and other animals. But, this was so different. Your hand never left mine. From where I was laying, and twitching, I could see the torn body. I was on the ground, convulsing, without shedding a single tear. You were crouching above me, crying hysterically. You didn’t let go of my hand nor did you say anything.
This started off the Summer Dreams series. It’s a bit off color from the other parts to it, so most people don’t read past the first part. I plan on adding more to it when I have the inspiration. . .
